A Red Hat Cornation

A little of this and a little of that and I created my first digital scrapbook page. It was fairly simple with our teacher Kasey's help. I decieded to do my page with the Red Hat Cornation of the Vice Queens that we held before I left Ontario.

Sister's First Digital Scrapbooking

Well she finally did it all buy her self. (and a little help from the instructor). This is a program from Creative Memories called Digital Scrapbooking and Debi said she found it easy to use.
The story is about Reflections and the 10th year anniversary of our mothers passing. Leon, Debi and I went up to the mountains in Baniff Alberta to pay a visit. The tall rock formation in the back ground is called the Hoo Doo's and it is in this area that we spread mom's ashes.
The program is a drag and drop then you can fade the edges of the pictures in or put boarders around them. Deb choose to Fade them in making it look more seamless. She says the program is really easy and if she didn't have so much tied up in material she get the program and use it. I am a paper and scissors scrapbooker , I will be posting my creation tonight but I am sticking the paper method.

That Silly Thing

I had taken these pictures of Laila with the Silly thing I bought knowing it would make a great page. It is a silicone tube about 6 iches long. It has a ball inside that when you hit or shake it, the lights dance around . At first Laila was afraid of it but soon realised how much fun it was.
For the background I used various sizes and kinds of papers. I rounded all corners with a corner round that my sister won at our first month of scrap book classes.
My handy Cricut cut the lettering using the George & Basic Shapes Cartridge.

How many can I do?

My sister and I are doing the grandma babysitting thing for her son and daughter while they are gone to California...I am finding that time is something I don't have a whole lot of right now.

The baby is sleeping so I am up loading these cards to my blog and see how many I can get loaded before he wakes up.

I had some Wine colored paper from Big Lots (last winters purchase) so I thought I would make up a few cards to keep on hand. I used the Large Floral Stamp from Stampin Up with Baroque Burgundy Ink on a camel colored piece of card stock & my handy Cricut cut the Labels. Using the Graceful & Wonderful word stamps I made a few of these. Nice to have on hand for Anniversarys or pick me ups.

I was involved in a Valentines Card Swap. At first I was making differnt cards but soon ran out of idea's. So this is my run of cards that I finshed the last 20 of.

I love butferflies so I used it on the white card stock with hearts . Layered it on a black square. I embossed the purple with the swirl and put it all together on red card stock.
Since I didn't have a Valentines Stamp, (imagine that) and I could not find one before Feb the 1st I used the happiness stamp from SU to finish the front. I always use a white piece of paper on the inside to put my verse. (this way the card can be recycled) . Amongst all that junk mail, It feels so divine, when someone cares enough. to send a Valentine.. I hope everyone enjoyed their cards.

Babies, babies and more babies. It seems we are having a run on new ones blessing our family and our friends families. So one night I sat down and did up 10 of each. The pink card stock has a layer of a paper I got in a package from Cosco. I love the gentle swirls in it. The stamps are a fav of mine from the set " Buggies and Booties" which I believe is now retired.
I did the same with the blue and now I am all set. Come on Babies, make your grand entrance. I am ready for ya.....

I use this stamp when you just have to have a just because card to send to a friend or family member.
I got this stamp in Tennesse on a clearance table. Hubby and I were on our way to Florida and decieded to have a pit stop. He went into the Golf store and I was in my Element. There was a stamping store right beside it. ( I think someone did some smart planning there) Anyway I really like this stamp and use it a far amount of time.
It is hard to see the "thinking of you" but this is what I put on this card.

It's in the Can

I joined a gift swap on line back in January & I wasn't sure I had hit the dead line for my entry so I kinda put it out of my mind. Okay so I forgot.
So a week ago I got an e-mail from a Lovely Lady named Wendy saying we were swap partners. Alrighty then I think, what did I do that I have forgotten to do...follow the web site back to the orginal and there it is.....
My partner is a busy stay at home mom that also does day care. So I thought why not do her up a pamper can.
I found some paper that had hearts on it and in another book altogether some different striped paper. The little saying on the front says " Every moment holds a hidden Gift" Double sided tap is a marvlous invention isn't it? Yep used a bit more than necessary, but we don't want it coming unwrapped in the mail now do we. I loaded her up with some nice bath products and a tea packett. I know she will get it late but we both agreed that the fun part is knowing it is coming.

Motorcycle B-day Cards

We have lot of friends who ride & that are having birthdays coming up. So I did a run on differnt colors and stamps. I tried to match the Base card colors to their bikes.

The top one is an orange base card, with black topper which I had run through my cuttle bug using the Happy Birthday Embossing Folder.
I stamped with SU's Black Ink on white card sock then mounted it on black, with orange card stock.

This one was so easy, again using the orange card stock as the base, I ran the black through my cuttle bug, I used the Spots & Dots Embossing Folder. When you look at it the spots and dots look like little wheels. The motorcycle stamps are from the Born to Ride Set.

I couldn't reset this stamp of Snoopy. It was a gift from my sil . She found it at a store in the States for me. With this close up you can actually see the spots and dots from the Cuttlebug Embossing . I have the perfect friend to send this to. She has long hair so the dog with his ears flying out the back will suit her well. The smaller stamps are from SU -Born to Ride set.

29 cards

Well I joined my first card swap, and I was so excited. Then I got my numbers and I had to make 29 cards..wow..I had started making cards until my brain went dead trying to think of different idea's. Then I realized that I didn't have to make 29 different cards just 29 cards...(okay menopaus makes your brain mushy sometimes)

I am a new SU dealer and still waiting for my kit. I just did the tracking on it and it is suppose to be here on Feb.14th. WOW what a fab Valentines present to get...

This is one of the many cards I made......

I used my Doddlecharms Cricut cartridge to make the paper bag from brown card stock. The hearts where cut from the same cartridge using varoius sizes. I stamped the back gound with the hearts from SU-Love Matters kit. in a purple ink..(Micheals I think)

My card stock was from varous sources and the base card was a deep purple.

A Bear named Oatmeal

I had this idea for a while and finally got all the Pics together. The brown paper is from Micheal's and the flowery paper came in a large assortment bundle from Cosoc's. The method of cutting the flowery paper came from this last weeks scrap class by Kasey. She explained it was a great way to use up scraps or large patterns that would over power a page.I thought that the pictures would stand out more by mounting the pictures on a pretty pink from Micheals. I used the corner rounder from Creative Memories and did the journaling on the computer. The story goes ..
There was a little Bear who was up for adoption. He was soon bought by a special person for a gift to a little girl named Stephanie. She was about 3 years old when he came into her life and named him Oatmeal.
Oatmeal was loved and even went to school with Stephanie. Soon Stephanie grew into a lovely young woman and fell in love with Mike. They married and had a little girl named Laila. Oatmeal was given to Laila to be loved and hugged all day long.
What a happy little Bear
Oatmeal is!
I found a cute picture of Stephanie in Pre-kindergarden holding Oatmeal. I finshed the page with a couple pics of Laila and Oatmeal.
